Huh!!?? What's this?
Oh... one of those
This is my favorite varmit dog!! Get 'im Max!!
And he does... the snake was the loser. Photography by Yadkin River Photography
02/2007 The is Jack and Shine. A fine Beagle pup.
Hounds on miniature scale! This is UKC Yadkin River Lightning and yes he's a Beagle. He belongs to me and is close to 3 months old in this picture. (About 9/01/05) Isn't he pretty. We took him to Fred Gentry's Beagle puppy lot 09/15/05 for his, and his brothers, first outing. As of yesterday it hadn't rained in several weeks and all the dogs had a hard time running in the dry conditions. He's got plenty of time to learn in the next couple of months.
This is Jack's Beagle, UKC Yadkin River Thunder. Another fine looking little hound. Max has started taken these guys to the woods and the all disappear for hours. Hope Max is teaching them all the right moves.
Pups here on the farm are treated sooo badly, arn't they. These are the Beagle Brothers shown above. What a pair of hams. I think this is what we'll be hunting from now on. Pressure from deer hunters and crabby land owners has ended our coonhunting. jmd
November 2005 This is Jack and Thunder ( The others are in the thicket to the left of Jack) on one of our rabbit hunts. I sure do enjoy going for a few hours. These boys sure know how to get in a thicket. I really enjoy seeing them work. This is really a lousy photo and I really need to start taking the camera more often.
This little guy is "True Grit". This is Maximo El Segundo. Max for short. He is a great puppy trainer. We let our pups run loose on the farm until they are about 6 months old and Max helps to get them running track. Max will tree coons. There is a coon up this tree. (He has even killed a few himself!) He will run and jump rabbits with the Beagles, track injured deer, and squirrel hunt. He is UKC and AKC registered. He is available for stud by private treaty. Call us.
This is Dick Dobson's 8 month old German Shorthair, Bubba. Bubba has such an intense look on his face. Dick and Jack are cousins. I believe that this photo is near Mt. Lemmon, AZ. (You can correct me Dick if this isn't correct.) Dick has asked us to come bird hunt several time and we'll have to go sooner or later. I'm sure that Dick has this dog doing a great job of bird hunting by now.
This old photo is from about 1926 and is a picture of Jack's grandfather, Ed Tolbert, and his foxhound Drum. I'm sure that Jack got his love of hunting and fishing from this man.
This is Ed Tolbert again about early 1930's-ish with a gang of speckled pups. They look like they could have been Yadkin River dogs with all that white. Kinda like Tom on the front page ain't they. The Yadkin River line may be older than we thought.
